The short version. Welliana is a coach you talk to, so the app holds a conversation about your health and daily life. We use that only to run the coaching. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time, without asking us.

What we collect
Everything below comes from you — either because you typed it, spoke it, tapped it, or your device reported it. Welliana has no other source of information about you.

| What the coach remembers | Patterns, recurring obstacles, open threads and the way you prefer to be spoken to — derived from your conversation so the coach doesn't ask you the same thing twice. |
| Voice notes | Audio recorded only while you hold the microphone button, sent for transcription and then discarded. We do not keep the recording. |
| Where you are, roughly | A postal code, if you choose to give one, so your coach knows your weather and can say something useful about timing outdoor plans. We store the postal code and the coordinates of its centre — not your device's location. Welliana never asks your phone where it is. |
| Notifications | A push token identifying your device, so reminders can reach it. Removed when you turn notifications off. |
| Subscription | Whether you have an active subscription, handled by our billing provider. We never see or store your card details — payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. |

Why we hold it
- To coach you. A coach that forgets is not a coach. Your history is what lets it notice a pattern in your sleep or remember the injury you mentioned three weeks ago.
- To show you your own progress — the charts and weekly reflections are built from what you logged.
- To run the service — signing you in, sending a password reset, delivering a reminder you asked for, keeping your subscription current.
- To keep it working — diagnosing faults, preventing abuse, and rate-limiting to keep costs sane.
We do not use your health information to target advertising, and we do not build a profile of you for anyone else's benefit.
Who processes it
Running Welliana means a small number of companies handle some of your data on our behalf. Each is contractually a processor: they act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. This is the complete list.

Neither Anthropic nor OpenAI trains their models on the data we send them under the terms we use.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- We do not share it for advertising, cross-context behavioural or otherwise.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app asks for no such permission.
- Support staff cannot read your conversation with your coach. Our internal support tools show account state — whether you're signed up, whether a reset was sent — and deliberately not message content.
- Nobody, including us, can read your password. It is stored only as a hash.
Your choices and rights
Deleting everything
Open the app and go to Support → Delete account. That removes your account and everything belonging to it — your conversation, your logs, your progress. It cannot be undone, and you do not need to email anyone to do it.
Access and export
Write to support@welliana.com and we will send you a copy of what we hold about you.
Correction
Most of what we hold is editable in the app. If the coach has remembered something wrong, telling it so will correct it. Anything else, email us.
Depending on where you live
If you are in the EU, UK, California or another place with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your local regulator. We honour these requests regardless of where you live, because drawing that line by geography seemed like the wrong instinct.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account, because the coaching depends on the history. When you delete your account the data is removed from our live systems immediately, and it is removed from encrypted backups as those backups rotate out of retention. Voice recordings are discarded as soon as they are transcribed.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your records is enforced at the database level, so one account cannot read another's. Administrative access is limited to the people who need it to keep the service running, and excludes conversation content.
This is not medical care
Welliana offers wellness coaching and behavioural support. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or replace care from a qualified clinician, and it is not a covered entity under HIPAA. If something about your health concerns you, please talk to a doctor.
Children
Welliana is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Where your data is held
Our infrastructure and our processors operate in the United States. If you use Welliana from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed there.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
